2 Madison city employees injured in separate incidents
Both incidents happened just before 6 a.m. Thursday
MADISON, Wis. — Two Madison city employees were injured in separate incidents Thursday morning, according to Madison police.
Both incidents happened just before 6 a.m.
Police said a Madison Metro employee was struck by a car crossing E. Washington Avenue near the Metro’s maintenance facility. The driver of the vehicle stopped immediately.
The employee was taken to the hospital. His condition is not available.
A Madison Streets and Recycling Department employee was injured in a crash on Broom Street near Dayton Street while picking up refuse, according to police.
Police said a van struck a trash bin being handled by the employee, and the driver initially left the scene but later returned.
The worker was taken to a hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
