2 injuries reported in school bus crash; bus driver cited for failure to yield
NEAR RIO, Wis. — The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office said two students were on a bus during a crash with a pick-up truck Tuesday afternoon.
Columbia County dispatch told News 3 Now a bus and pick up truck collided on Highway 22 and Highway B in Lowville around 3:15 p.m. Tuesday.
A preliminary investigation shows the school bus was turning left from Highway 22 onto Highway B when it failed to yield to the oncoming truck. The truck driver crashed into the front bumper of the bus.
The two women inside the pick-up truck were taken to a hospital with minor injuries. No one inside the bus was hurt.
The bus driver was cited for failure to yield right of way. The crash remains under investigation.
