2 injured in milk truck crash
Highway closed for 6 hours
TOWN OF TROY, Wis. — Two people were injured when a milk-hauling semitrailer crashed and struck a car traveling the opposite direction.
The Walworth County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were called to Highway 20 south of County Road J in the town of Troy at the 8:03 a.m. Thursday for a report of an injury crash involving a semi and a car.
Investigators said a semi driver, Kenneth Ferry, 62, of East Troy, was driving west on Highway 20 when he lost control of the truck, overturned, and stuck an eastbound 2005 Volkswagen Passat.
The car went into the ditch where it also overturned.
Ferry and the driver of the car, Kimberly N. South, 56, of Whitewater, were trapped and had to be extricated. Both were taken to local hospitals with what is believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.
A portion of Highway 20 was closed for about six hours during the crash investigation.
