2 arrested in burglary at Cupid’s Lingerie and Gifts
Men accused of stealing packages of potpourri, pipes
BARABOO, Wis. — Two Reedsburg men have been arrested in connection with a burglary at Cupid’s Lingerie and Gifts, the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office said.
Sheriff’s officials said a break-in occurred about 2:30 a.m. Monday at the business on County Road BD in Baraboo, and ADT Security was notified.
Deputies at the scene found the glass front window broken and all of the building’s doors secured. Upon further investigation, it was determined that a burglar stole numerous packages of potpourri and pipes and caused nearly $1,000 of damage to the store window and shelving, according to sheriff’s officials.
One of the deputies called to the scene saw a vehicle on Shady Lane Road and was able to get the license plate number. The vehicle was stopped by Reedsburg police.
Sheriff’s officials said it was determined that the vehicle’s occupants were involved in the burglary and both subjects were taken into custody. Upon interviewing the suspects, both admitted to committing the burglary, according to a Sauk County Sheriff’s Office news release.
The suspects were identified as Michael K. Hale, 26, and Cody K. Bolt, 24. They were arrested on charges of burglary, criminal damage to property and possession of burglary tools.
The Sauk County District Attorney’s Office will proceed with formal charging.
