A 15-year-old was injured in a moped vs. pickup truck crash Thursday in Monroe, officials said.

Monroe police were called around 10:50 a.m. to reports of a two-vehicle crash involving a moped and a pickup truck at the intersection of Ninth Avenue and 22nd Street, according to a release.

Cole T. Lincicum, 15, of Monroe, reportedly pulled out from a stop sign, into the path of a truck being driven by Larissa M. Ethridge, 18, of Monroe, investigators said.

Lincicum suffered serious injuries and was taken to the Monroe Clinic Hospital, officials said. He was later taken to UW Hospital by Med Flight.

Ethridge was not injured, according to the release.

The crash remains under investigation.
