$14K, guns, luxury car seized; 2 men face charges in OD death investigation
BLUE MOUNDS, Wis. — Guns, drugs, cash and a luxury car were seized and two men are now facing charges in connection with an overdose last week in Dane County, officials said.
The Dane County Sheriff’s Office said a 39-year-old Blue Mounds man was found dead in his home on Apple Hill Drive Thursday.
The sheriff’s office said Tuesday that 23-year-old Marquis S. Howard, of Madison, and 26-year-old Donell L. Thomas, of Chicago, are facing charges in connection with the death.
Howard is tentatively charged with reckless homicide, two counts of delivery of heroin and being a felon in possession of a firearm. Thomas is tentatively charged with delivery of heroin. Both men are in Dane County Jail.
The scene was consistent with an overdose death, which continues to be investigated by the Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office. The sheriff’s office said that over the past five days, detectives were able to establish a case and they seized three firearms, including a handgun reported stolen from a burglary in April. Detectives also seized 130 grams of marijuana, 1.7 grams of heroin, .4 grams of crack, $14,787 in cash and a 2013 BMW 528.
