A 14-year-old Monroe High School student has been tentatively charged with arson for allegedly starting a fire in a school bathroom Tuesday, according to a release.

Just before noon, Monroe emergency crews were called to Monroe High School for reports of a fire in a bathroom, officials said.

The fire was confined to a soap dispenser, but there was moderate damage to the bathroom, according to the release. No one was injured in the fire.

Officers said an investigation led them to believe a 14-year-old boy intentionally set the fire.

The 14-year-old was released to a parent.
