12 agencies respond to Monona fire; no one hurt
MONONA, Wis. — A dozen agencies responded to a fire Saturday night in Monona.
Monona Fire Department officials said the call came in just after 5 p.m. for a fire in the 4800 block of Midmoor Road.
Officials said they saw smoke and flames coming from the building.
Authorities said one person inside the building got out and was not hurt. A pet was found inside the building and was returned safely to its owner.
A cause remains under investigation but officials said the fire originated from a garage attached to the house. The incident is estimated to have caused about $500,000 in damage.
The homeowner is receiving assistance from the Red Cross.
