100 Black Men of Madison, Inc. host back-to-school drive

MADISON, Wis. — 100 Black Men of Madison, Inc. held their annual back-to-school drive Saturday.

The event gave kids a chance to pick up a backpack full of much-needed supplies. This weekend, the group gave out 1,600 backpacks to get kids excited for the new school year.

“When kids get themselves this brand new backpack full of school supplies, they’re off to a great jumpstart on the new school year,” group Vice President J.R. Sims said. “To see their smiling faces, to see them light up as we hand these things to them man, man, that is not replaceable.”

This is the 27th year that the group has held the event.
