VERONA, Wis. — One person was taken by Med Flight Thursday afternoon after a car vs. dump truck crash on Highway 18/151 near Verona, Dane County officials said.
Emergency crews were sent to Highway 18/151 near Spring Rose Road just before 3 p.m. for reports of a two-vehicle crash.
A dump truck was going west on Highway 151, attempting to cross the eastbound lanes to turn onto Spring Rose Road, when a vehicle that was going east hit the dump truck broadside, investigators said.
Officials said the driver of the car was pinned, and after being extricated from the car they were taken to the hospital by Med Flight with non-life-threatening injuries.
According to a release, several gallons of diesel fuel leaked from the truck after the crash.
Officials from the Department of Natural Resources and the Dane County Highway crew assisted with the cleanup.
