Linda Eggert

Linda Eggert grew up one of seven children on the north side of Milwaukee.

She's a 1985 journalism graduate of the Univesity of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. After working for WEAU-TV in Eau Claire for a few years, she joined WISC-TV's news department in 1987. Linda's past beats have included city-county government and local education.

She was the lead WISC-TV reporter for the award-winning "Schools of Hope" civic journalism project sponsored by News 3 and the Wisconsin State Journal. It examined what could be done to close the achievement gap between white students in the Madison Metropolitan School District and students of color.

Currently, Linda is News 3's chief investigative reporter working to expose wrong-doing or give context to complicated issues. Her past investigations have exposed problems with new home construction and inspection, Dane County's family court counseling system, Chavez school construction, Vilas zoo, illegal immigrants, graffiti and other community issues.

If you have an I-team tip or idea, Linda asks you call her at 608-277-5181 or email her at leggert@wisctv.com
