As a young child, Colin Benedict loved to tell stories, so becoming a reporter came quite naturally to him.

Benedict is News 3's political reporter. He started at WISC-TV in June of 1998.

His favorite stories to report on are those that are unusual or surprising. His most unusual experience came while covering the race for Governor in 2002. He spent six hours seasick on Lake Michigan for a story about the economy.

Benedict is always looking for ideas about wacky people who do wacky things, so please e-mail him with suggestions.

Benedict is originally from Stevens Point, Wis. He is also a University of Wisconsin-Madison graduate.

When he is not reporting, Benedict enjoys golfing, reading, running and participating in fantasy sports.

Benedict feels fortunate to be working with such a talented group of journalists at WISC-TV. "I have learned something every day that I've been here," he added.
