Freezing Rain Advisories have been extended to the afternoon for southern Wisconsin. Light freezing rain/drizzle and flurries will continue today with highs in the upper 20s. Any additional ice accumulations will be less than 1/10". There's a chance for flurries on tonight with low temperatures around 20 degrees.
A winter storm will develop over the weekend. A Winter Storm Watch has been issued from Saturday night through Sunday. There is a chance of light freezing rain or snow by Saturday evening, and as the storm moves into the Midwest, snow will develop Saturday night, becoming heavy from late Saturday night into Sunday morning, before tapering to flurries by Sunday evening. Storm accumulations of 5-10" are likely by Sunday evening and blowing and drifting snow is likely. Highs on Sunday will reach the upper 20s, followed by temperatures falling in the afternoon.
Monday will be variably cloudy with a chance for flurries; highs will only be around 10 degrees and wind chills will be as cold as -5 to-15. Christmas Eve Day will be partly sunny, breezy, and continued cold with highs in the upper teens. Flurries will be possible Christmas Eve Night into Christmas morning. Highs will reach the middle 20s on Christmas Day, but will struggle into the lower teens on Thursday.
