MADISON, Wis. - A tornado was reported in northwestern Dane County and Iowa County Sunday night, according to the National Weather Service.
The National Weather Service said that at 10:50 p.m. a confirmed tornado was located seven miles southwest of Mount Horeb. No damage was reported in the area.
A report to the National Weather Service from the Iowa County emergency manager stated there is a swath of damage from Highland east to Blackhawk Lake to near Governor Dodge State Park. The Iowa County Sheriff's Office confirmed there was wind damage in the county. A dispatcher told News 3 there was extensive damage throughout Iowa County.
Iowa County Emergency Management Director Keith Hurlbert says crews are trying to make their way to the hilly, northern half of the county to assess damage. No injuries are reported.
Hurlbert says some brief flash flooding also hit the area.
A roof was reported blown off of a barn and a house in Oregon, according to Dane County officials.
The National Weather Service said an EF-2 tornado tracked through Iowa County, and an EF-1 tornado hit north of Oregon.
The city of Fennimore appears to be the area hardest hit. Damage was reported to several properties along County Highway Q between Switzer and Tormey Roads. Trees were down on a house, which is believed to have sustained major damage. The residents of the home were not injured.
At least four farm buildings were destroyed on Tormey Road. Two concrete silos were destroyed and one house sustained minor damage, according to Grant County Emergency Management.
As of 3:30 a.m., Alliant Energy reported about 3,000 customers without power in the viewing area. MG&E reported 22 customers without power. By 7:30 a.m there were no MG&E outages reported and 613 outages in Alliant Energy areas.
All tornado warnings expired by 11:15 p.m.
