MADISON, Wis. -

Warmer temperatures and slightly higher dew points Thursday afternoon come ahead of a chance for storms Thursday and Friday.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for Crawford, Grant and Richland counties through 9 p.m. on Thursday.

News 3 meteorologist Haddie McLean said there is a chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms to develop later Thursday afternoon, mainly northwest of Madison. A better chance for rain will come overnight into Friday morning as a cold front shifts southeast through the area.

The severe weather threat is marginal, although, isolated large hail and damaging winds are possible.

Showers and thunderstorms will diminish Friday afternoon, according to McLean.
