Rain forecast through Wednesday morning

Nice weather forecast for the weekend

MADISON, Wis. - A low pressure system moving out of the northwest will bring showers and scattered thunderstorms to southern Wisconsin through Wednesday morning, according to News 3 meteorologist Haddie McLean.

Madison has only had 0.66 inches of rain in the last two weeks. McLean said that while we're not technically in a drought, it is getting dry.

Showers and thunderstorms developed Monday morning, and some areas could see around an inch of rain through Monday evening, according to McLean. Tuesday will bring a chance for an isolated thunderstorm in the afternoon with warmer and more humid conditions.

Showers and thunderstorms will become more numerous Tuesday night and Wednesday morning as a cold front passes through the area.

A large area of high pressure will move in for the end of next week into the following weekend.
