  • Other impacts...frost bite can occur in 15 to 30 minutes on exposed skin at the lower end of these wind chill values. Extended exposure without proper clothing will increase the risk of hypothermia. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Wind Chill Advisory means that the wind will combine with the very cold air to generate low wind chills. This will result in frost bite and lead to hypothermia if precautions are not taken.
