MADISON, Wis. -- Dane County could lead the country to cleaner air with a new effort to open more "green" gas stations.A special federal grant will equip 100 local gas stations with technology to reduce ozone pollution and save thousands of gallons of gasoline, WISC-TV reported. The OPW Vaporsaver System stops gasoline vapor before it enters the air and converts it back to gas in underground storage tanks.Customers at the pump won't notice a difference, WISC-TV reported.Officials said that they estimate stations could save nearly 500 gallons of gas per month.
