Best Buy Accepting Some Recycled Electronics

Wisconsin Is Testing New Program

UPDATED: 4:46 pm CDT June 3, 2008

Wisconsin has been chosen as a test-market state for a free electronics recycling program at Best Buy.

As part of the trial, which started on Monday, consumers were able to bring in up to two gadgets per day at participating stores.

The list of acceptable items includes computer processors, computer monitors and televisions with screens up to 32 inches, WISC-TV reported.

Console TVs, air conditioners, microwave ovens and other large appliances will not be accepted, officials said.

No Best Buy stores in Madison are participating, but stores in Eau Claire, La Crosse, Wausau and Stevens Point.
