Brad Chaimson

It is said that somewhere, hidden deep in a closet in his parent's home, there is a box containing old home movies of Brad Chaimson "reporting" on made-up stories as a child.

The family camcorder would prove instrumental in helping Brad decide what he wanted to do when he grew up.

Brad joined the WISC-TV news team as the Rock County reporter in September 2007. He previously worked as the Escanaba bureau reporter for WLUC-TV in Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

Making the move to southern Wisconsin was a natural fit. Growing up in Highland Park, Ill., a suburb north of Chicago, the Badgers were never far from his heart. Inf act, Brad's grandfather, father and older brother all graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

However, Brad missed the stop sign when traveling north, and eventually reached the shores of Lake Superior. He graduated from Northern Michigan University, in Marquette, Mich., and will be split if the Badgers and the NMU Wildcats ever face each other in the NCAA Frozen Four hockey tournament.

While studying at NMU, Brad got his first taste of live television while anchoring Public Eye News on WNMU-TV. He also completed internships at WLUC-TV in Marquette and WGN in Chicago, proving to himself this is what he was meant to do.

Brad currently lives and works out of Janesville. He's thrilled to no longer be in the path the Upper Peninsula's constant snowfall. Even so, Brad has been blamed for bringing that snow with him, breaking snowfall records in southern Wisconsin during the winter of '07-'08. He insists he had nothing to do with it.

You can often find Brad on the golf course, at football and baseball games, well as checking out live music and new restaurants.

Brad loves working in and being apart of his new community. If you have an idea for a story in Rock County, feel free to e-mail Brad
