VERONA,Wis. -

The Verona Wildcats boys hockey team shut out Sun Prairie 4-0 at Eagles Nest Ice Arena Thursday night to remain undefeated on the season.

The Wildcats, ranked second in this week's Wisconsin Prep Hockey poll, jumped out to a 2-0 lead after the first period.

Defenseman Pat Stevens scored at the 6:53 mark and Charlie Parker added the second goal at 15:18.

After a scoreless second period, Parker and Harry Seid added third period goals to make the final 4-0.

Sophomore goaltender Nathan Cleghorn got the win for Verona .

Sun Prairie goaltender Jake Thorton took the loss.

Verona improves to 5-0-0 on the season and 4-0-0 in the Big Eight Conference.

Sun Prairie drops to 2-3-1 overall and 1-3-1 in the conference.
