MOUNT HOREB -

The Mount Horeb Vikings boys basketball team has been selected as the Prep Mania Team of the Month.

The Vikings are still undefeated this season and are ranked number one in the state in Division Two in the Associated Press boys basketball poll.

Vikings senior Ryan Epping says "I can't believe we are number one in the state. As a team we all play together, we all love each other. It's just a really fun year."

It's believed it's the first time Mount Horeb has ever been ranked number one in the state in boys basketball and the Vikings last trip to the state tournament was 1941.

Head Coach Todd Nesheim has energized the culture of basketball in Mount Horeb in his six years as head coach, and he's getting the students involved. Their cheering section is named "Nesy's Nuthouse".

"There's a lot of pride right now as be being one of the best around," says Nesheim. "The crowd has our backs in everything. They call themselves the 6th man on the court getting in everyone's head. They are awesome."
