Edgewood girls' softball wins first playoff game
Wind played havoc with the game
Madison Edgewood's girls softball team didn't let the wind distract them from taking care of business Thursday.
Heather Grelle threw a complete game, and Edgewood moves on in the WIAA playoffs with a 10-2 victory over Lake Mills at the Goodman softball diamond.
The 30 mile-per-hour wind knocked down most of the outfield fence before a dust devil kicked up. After that, Edgewood starting hitting the ball.
In the bottom of the 2nd, Edgewood's Maggie Seibert smokes one all the way to the wall, scoring Lindsey Schmitt, giving the Crusaders a 4-0 lead.
Later that inning, Grace Seibert lines one to right, scoring Elizabeth Schieldt scores.
