Waunakee and DeForest both pulled off surprise wins on Thursday to advance to the next round of the WIAA boys baseball tournament.
Jared Blied hit a three-run homer in the seventh inning to beat Holmen, 7-6.
Holmen had already won 22 games this season, and was the top-ranked team in the Sauk Prairie sectional going into Thursday's game.
Jaren Hilliard-Kendall and Taylor Kowley also hit two-run homers in the game.
Meanwhile, Waunakee's Tyler Lyght got the game winning RBI against Lacrosse Central to help give Waunakee an 8-6 victory.
Both teams were tied at 4 when Lyght got a bloop single to give Waunakee the lead. Lyght then got another hit in extra innings to give Waunakee the lead for good.
Waunakee will play DeForest next Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Sauk Prairie.
