Craig shocks Memorial, West beats East
Big Eight boys basketball race tightens
Despite the snow, three Big Eight Conference boys basketball games were played Thursday night.
In Janesville, the Craig Cougars defeated Madison Memorial 63-56. It was the third straight loss for the Spartans.
Sun Prairie now moves a half-game ahead of Memorial in the Big Eight Standings. Sun Prairie is 13-2, Madison Memorial is 12-2. The Cardinals' game at Middleton Thursday night was postponed by snow.
At Madison LaFollette, the Lancers held off Beloit Memorial, 58-56.
At Madison West, the Regents built a big halftime lead then withstood a Madison East rally to beat the Purgolders 59-51.
Malik Clements led all scorers with 26 points.
East is now 7-7 in the Big Eight, West is 6-8.
