Whitnall's Tyler Herro de-commits to Wisconsin

Says he'll re-open his recruitment

GREENFIELD, WI - Tyler Herro, one of the state's top boys basketball recruits for the class of 2018 announced Tuesday night he's backing off his verbal commitment to play at the University of Wisconsin to re-open his recruitment.

Herro, considered a four-star recruit had committed to the Badgers in September of 2016.

The initial signing day in college basketball is November 8th.

Herro, a 6-4,180 pound guard who's heading into his senior season at Whitnall High School made the announcement on his Twitter account Tuesday night.

“After a lot of conversations with my family and prayer I have decided to reopen my recruitment and explore all of my options,” Herro wrote. “I am not asking anyone to like my decision, but to respect it.”
