UW softball falls 3-2 to North Carolina in 8 innings

Eugene, Oregon - The Badger women's softball team has just one NCAA tournament win in school history.

Trying to double that against North Carolina in the NCAA regional in Eugene, Oregon.

The Badgers score first when Michelle Muller hit a sac fly in the 3rd. UW leads one  nothing.

They trail in 2-1 in the 7th but Wisconsin's Marissa Mersch hits a game tying home run.

But in the 8th, Carolina scores on a sac fly. UW's Stephanie Peace made a great catch in foul territory but it allowed the runner third to score since there was only one out.

UW falls 3-2 in 8 innings. It's a double elimination tournament so they next play Friday at 4pm CT.
