Stricker tied for third at Tour Championship

Four birdies on back nine leads to 66

ATLANTA - Steve Stricker made four birdies on the back nine to shoot 66 in the first round of the Tour Championship in Atlanta.

Stricker is tied for third, two shots behind Henrik Stenson, who fired a six-under 64 at East Lake.

Masters champion Adam Scott is alone in second place at five under par.

Stricker shot even par on the front nine, then birdied 12, 14, 15, and 16 to fire 31 on the back for his total of 66.

Stricker entered the tournament sixth in the FedEx Cup standings and after today's round is projected in the fourth position behind Stenson, Scott and Tiger Woods who struggled to a three over par 73 Thursday.
