SHAWANO, Wis. -

DNR officials have tagged a 125-year old sturgeon on the Wolf River near Shawano.

The female sturgeon is over 7 feet 3 inches long and weighs 240 pounds.

DNR sturgeon biologist Ron Bruch says it's the largest sturgeon they've tagged on the Lake Winnebago system since they started the tagging program in the 1950's.

She would have weighed about 30 pounds more, but had already laid some eggs.

Bruch estimates the sturgeon was born around 1887 - when Grover Cleveland was President.
