In the short term, though, Lacy and his fellow rookies will focus on getting used to life in the NFL.

“We’re just starting to get acclimated now, just adjusting to the pro level, understanding the playbook. That’s the biggest key thing,” fourth-round pick David Bakhtiari, an offensive lineman from Colorado, said before practice. “I want the organization to be able to trust me and I need to be trustworthy by knowing what I’m going to do.

“This is a new day. I’m not saying they’re bad nerves or almost like anxious nerves, good nerves. So I’m just excited to see what I’ve got.”
