Packers place Cobb on IR-return list
Will miss at least eight weeks
The Green Bay Packers placed wide receiver Randall Cobb on the injured reserve / designated to return list Tuesday.
Cobb suffered a broken fibula in Sunday's game at Baltimore and the IR/return move opens a roster spot for the Packers and also means Cobb will be out at least eight weeks.
Under the designated to return rules, Cobb can't practice for six weeks, and can't play in a game for eight weeks, meaning the earliest he could return is the Dec. 15 game against Dallas.
The Packers promoted wide receiver Myles White from the practice squad to take Cobb's roster spot, and they signed tight end Jake Stoneburner from the practice squad.
The Packers put offensive lineman Greg Van Roten on the season-ending injured reserve list to make room for Stoneburner.
Stoneburner's promotion likely means the Packers will play tight end Jermichael Finley at wide receiver, perhaps in the slot where Cobb was so effective the last two seasons.
