Madison, WIS. - The Badger football team began spring practices on March 5. Fourteen practices later they have just one more: the spring game Saturday.
It starts at 3 p.m. at Camp Randall and the ticket sales from this year's game will benefit the UW School of Education.
The game will consist of two halves. The first half will be 40 plays of scripted offense vs. defense. After a 15 minute half time the team will split into Cardinal and White teams. The teams will play two 15-minute quarters with normal scoring and clock operation.
Thursday was the team's last practice before the spring game Saturday. Gary Andersen expects big things.
"We need to compete. We need to play football. I want to see a productive offense and productive defense, and you know we need to be able to execute and look like a big time division 1 food team. I am looking for a team that we can walk off the field and say they are moving in the right direction. Are we ready to play LSU tomorrow? No, but we definitely made strides from day one to day 15 and it should be substantial from the way we look on the field Saturday," said Andersen.
