MADISON, Wis. - The Middleton girls soccer team beat Oregon in a division one sectional final to advance to state.
The game was scoreless after 100 minutes, so the game went to a shoot out.
The Panthers missed its first three shots, while Middleton made two. UW Recruit and Middleton goalie Meghan Ledin stopped the 4th shot to send the Cardinals back to state for the first time since 2007. They will play Thursday at 5pm in Milwaukee in the Division one state quarterfinals.
In Division two Mount Horeb returns to state with a 3-0 win over Edgewood in the sectional final. Clarie Miller, Cassie Handrick, and Katie Cecil scored goals in the victory.
