WAUSAU -

The Mallards have been hard to beat this season. Madison is 33-19 on the season. None of that mattered Saturday night in Wausau when the Mallards got beat by the Wisconsin Woodchucks 6-4.

The Mallards started out fast. In the first inning a pair of singles by Joe McCarthy and Jason Goldstein gave the Mallards a 2-0 lead. That lead quickly evaporated as the Woodchucks scored three runs in the bottom of the first, highlighted by Matt Tellor's two-run homer.

From there, Wisconsin took control, scoring another run in the second inning to make it 4-2.

In the fifth, the Mallards made it 4-3 with another McCarthy RBI, but Wisconsin scored two more runs in the sixth to put the game out of reach.

Madison plays in Wausau again on Sunday.
