Mallards drop first playoff game 15-0

Seven-run fourth inning propels Lakeshore

MEQUON, Wis. - The Lakeshore Chinooks scored seven runs in the fourth inning on their way to a 15-0 win in game one of the Northwoods League South Division playoffs at Kapco Park in Mequon Monday night.

The Chinooks got to Mallards starter Luke Staub for six runs on only four hits in three-plus innings.

Chinook center fielder Andrew Stephens paced the Lakeshore offense going three for six with four runs batted in.

Catcher Mike Hollenbeck has two hits and four RBI, while first baseman Adam Machbitz went two-for-four with a homer and 2 runs batted in.

Lakeshore takes a 1-0 lead in the best of three series.

The Mallards and Chinooks play game two Tuesday night at 7:05 pm at Warner Park.
