MADISON -

NASCAR Sprint Cup star Matt Kenseth was in Madison Monday night to meet fans and sign autographs at Smart Toyota.

Kenseth said he loves coming back to Wisconsin, although with his busy schedule, he doesn't always get a chance to do it as often as he likes.

"I still really miss Wisconsin-- every time I come back - Katie (his wife) knows that-'man I miss living in Wisconsin' and then, having a week off spending some time getting caught up with friends and family,  so it's always fun to come up here."

Kenseth is fourth in Sprint Cup driving points, but still hasn't won a race this season, making his spot in the "Chase for the Championship" somewhat tenuous.

"A month ago before things started going a little bit south for a while there, we were leading the points, and while we were leading the points, I was getting people asking me, man when are you going to win, you should be having a better year," said Kenseth.

" I was like I  mean, we're leading the points - any other year, people would be saying, man you're having a great year - you guys have been right in the mix every week and so it's funny- it's all perception . We certainly don't want to be in mid season without a win no matter what the point standings is and we're working as hard as we can to get that."

Kenseth will race at Slinger International Speedway Tuesday night and has a bit of a break until his next Sprint Cup race which is July 27 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
