The Jefferson Eagles only needed five innings to prove they are the best team in Division 2 beating Viroqua 10-0 in the state final.

This is the school's first state baseball title in their fifth overall state appearance.

The Eagles beat Green Bay Notre Dame early Thursday morning in the semifinals. Because of a five-hour rain delay Jefferson did not finish their 11-0 win over the Tritions until 1 a.m. Thursday.

But playing two games in the same day did not affect the Eagles. They scored early and often including a 5 run 3rd inning.

"This is just a dream team. We have a lot of good players on our team and to consistently do what they did all year is awesome. We are just gonna enjoy it. We talked about it all season long 2014, question mark, what do you want your legacy to be and this is exactly what they wanted to do from day one and they achieved it," said Jefferson head coach Greg Fetherston

"I love it. Senior year this is great and I don't think it will set in for a couple of days but love it, its awesome," said Jefferson senior Tanner Johnson.
