The Cleveland Indians promoted outfielder Tyler Holt from Triple-A Columbus, the team announced Friday.

Struggling right-hander Zach McAllister was designated for assignment (for the purpose of optional assignment to Columbus).

Holt, 25, has spent the majority of the season with Columbus after starting off the campaign in Double-A Akron. Combined on the year between the two stops, he has hit .310 with 19 doubles, two home runs, 29 RBIs and 30 steals in 36 attempts.

McAllister allowed four earned runs on eight hits in 3 1/3 innings Thursday against Seattle. McAllister has a 3-6 record and 5.91 ERA.
