Former UW golfer Ryan Helminen eagled the second to last hole to pass Beaver Dam's Dan Woltman to win the Wisconsin State Men's Open Golf Championship Wednesday at The Bog in Sheboygan.
Helminen shot rounds of 75 and 67 on the 36-hole final day while Woltman, a two-time State Open winner, went 68-70.
Helminen's 72-hole total of 279 (-9) was one shot better than Woltman and two better than Kenosha's Jordan Elsen who finished third at -7.
Helminen earned $7,2000 for the win. He also won the State Open in 2008.
