The Los Angeles Dodgers acquired infielder Darwin Barney from the Chicago Cubs, according to multiple reports Monday.

Barney, 28, was designated for assignment last week, giving the Cubs 10 days to trade, release or waive him.

Barney is hitting .230 with two home runs and 16 RBIs in 72 games and 204 at-bats this season.

The Chicago Tribune reported that the Cubs would receive a minor league player.
