CAMBRIDGE, Wis. -

Marco Damiani went to a Green Bay Packers football camp last summer and competed in the Punt, Pass and Kick competition - and that started a run to a national championship.

The seven-year-old from Cambridge won the 6 and 7 year old national title in the NFL Punt, Pass and Kick competition in Denver January 12th.

Damiani won the title with a punt, pass and kick total of 207 feet, 6 inches.

His coach, Sam Fisher says, "his kick was his bread and butter."

Marco's dad, Fabricio, says "We play in the backyard with the soccer ball, then we change to the football."

"He's all sports," added Marco's mom, Beth Gunnelson. "Sometimes, we do jersey math- Mason Crosby plus Jordy Nelson, and we'll test his math with his knowledge of the jersey numbers.

When asked what his favorite part of the national PP&K competition, Marco responds "having fun".
