Brewers lose to Padres, 5-3
Four run sixth lifts San Diego
Jesus Guzman drove in three runs and Carlos Quentin added two more RBI as the San Diego Padres defeated the Milwaukee Brewers 5-3 at Miller Park Monday night.
Earlier in the afternoon, the Brewers learned that Ryan Braun would be suspended for the rest of the regular season for violating MLB's joint drug agreement.
Tom Gorzelanny (1-4) started for the Brewers and took a 3-1 lead into the sixth thanks to run scoring doubles by Jean Segura and Jonathan Lucroy in the first, and Segura's RBI grounder in the fifth.
But in the sixth, Quentin hit a two-run double and Guzman followed with another double to drive in two to chase Gorzelanny from the game.
The Brewers could muster only four hits on the night dropping the first of the four-game series.
Andrew Cashner (6-5) pitched six innings, striking out six to get the win.
Huston Street pitched the ninth for his 17th save for San Diego.
