A day after winning the game with a pinch-hit double, Yovani Gallardo pitched well enough to win as the Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Baltimore Orioles 8-3 at Miller Park Wednesday night.
Gallardo pitched into the seventh and despite walking five Orioles, he allowed just four hits and three runs, striking out five, evening his season record at 3-3.
Baltimore's Nelson Cruz hit two solo homers off Gallardo giving the Orioles slugger 19 homers on the season.
The Brewers took the lead for good in the second inning on Ryan Braun's double down the right field line that scored Khris Davis and Lyle Overbay.
Scooter Gennett's sacrifice fly made it 4-1 Brewers in the fifth.
After Cruz hit his second homer in the sixth, Manny Machado had an RBI single to close the gap to 4-3.
But in the eighth, Rickie Weeks drove in a run with a single to left, and Davis put the game out of reach with a three-run homer to left.
Carlos Gomez had two hits, drove in a run and stole his 10th base of the season for the Brewers.
