Brewers end losing streak versus Texas

Betancourt, Ramirez homer in 6-3 win

MILWAUKEE - Yuniesky Betancourt hit his eighth homer of the season as the Milwaukee Brewers ended their five-game losing streak with a 6-3 win over the Texas Rangers at Miller Park Tuesday night.

Ryan Braun got the Brewers the lead in the first inning with an RBI single. Carlos Gomez followed with a run-scoring double, then Betancourt hit a home run to center as Milwaukee opened a 5-0 lead.

Mitch Moreland homered for the Rangers in the top of the second, and Texas scored two more in the sixth on an Aramis Ramirez error and a Nelson Cruz sacrifice fly.

Ramirez made up for the error by hitting his first home run of the season in the seventh to give the Brewers a three-run lead.

Wily Peralta (3-2) allowed just two earned runs over six innings to get the win. Jim Henderson pitched the ninth for his seventh save of the season.

Justin Grimm (2-2) took the loss for Texas
