Freddie Freeman, Justin Upton and Ryan Doumit hit home runs as the Atlanta Braves defeated the Milwaukee Brewers, 9-3 in Atlanta Monday night.
Brewers starting pitcher Wily Peralta brought a 4-2 record with a 2.05 earned run average into the game but allowed three runs on nine hits, walking four in five innings of work.
Freeman hit his ninth homer of the season off Peralta (4-3) as the Braves built a 3-0 lead in the fourth.
The Brewers got back in the game in the fifth when Khris Davis hit a two-run homer off Braves starter Mike Minor (2-2) to make it 3-2.
After the Braves' Evan Gattis hit a sacrifice fly in the sixth, the Brewers countered with Ryan Braun's seventh home run of the season in the eighth.
But Atlanta pounded Brewer reliever Wei-Chung Wang for five runs in the bottom of the eighth.
Doumit hit his first homer of the season, Justin Upton followed with another two-run homer and Andrelton Simmons and Ramiro Pena capped off the rally with an RBI singles.
First baseman Lyle Overbay pitched and got the final out of the eighth in relief of Wang.
