Milwaukee continues domination of Pittsburgh

MILWAUKEE - Marco Estrada pitched seven strong innings and Alex Gonzalez drove in the only two runs of the game as the Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates at Miller Park Friday night, 2-1.

Gonzalez had a double to the left center field wall off Pirates starter A.J. Burnett to give the Brewers a 2-nothing lead.

Estrada (4-2) made the lead stand up pitching seven innings allowing only one run on four hits with eight strikeouts.

Closer Jim Henderson injured his right leg trying to catch a line drive and left the game with two outs in the ninth..

Francisco Rodriguez got the final out for his first save of the season.

Burnett (3-5) allowed just two runs on three hits in seven innings. He walked two and struck out six.

Milwaukee is now 19-27 on the season while Pittsburgh drops to 29-19.

The Brewers now have a 47-8 record against the Pirates at Miller Park over the last seven seasons.
