Last year, the Badgers had three different starting quarterbacks. Combined, they managed just 14 touchdowns through the air. Injuries and poor play played a part, but a thin wide receiving corps didn't help.
Jared Abbrederis led the team with 49 catches. The next closest wide receiver was Jordan Fredrick, who had just 17 grabs.
Abbrederis is excited about at least two incoming freshman.
Jazz Peavy hails from Kenosha and was a First-Team All-State selection. Robert Wheelwright comes from Columbus, Ohio and is a "four-star" recruit, according to Scout.com. Abbrederis says both have the smarts and the work ethic to play big time football.
"I think if you mix work with talent, that's going to produce some things."
The two freshman certainly have a role model in Abbrederis, who has gone from walk-on to an All-Conference player for UW.
