MADISON -

Mark Johnson has been a fixture around Madison for a long time.

He was a star hockey player at Madison Memorial High School, then went on to the University of Wisconsin where he helped win the NCAA national championship in his freshman year, 1977.

He later went on to win the gold medal in the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid as part of the "Miracle on Ice".
