Wisconsin running back Melvin Gordon has been named a semifinalist for the Doak Walker Award given to the nation's top college running back.
It's the fourth straight season a Badger running back has been a Doak Walker semifinalist.
John Clay in 2010 and Montee Ball in 2011 and 2012 were both finalists.
Gordon ranks eighth in the nation in rushing with 128.9 yards per game. This year, Gordon was the fastest player in Wisconsin history to rush for 1,000 yards, needing only 104 carries.
Gordon also leads the nation with an average of 8.1 yards per carry in 2013. He's rushed for at least 140 yards in six of Wisconsin's nine games.
