HOUSTON - J.J. Watt has already started to hear the talk about being considered defensive player of the year in the National Football League.
But the former Badger wants to help his team, the Houston Texans, make a statement Sunday.
Watt and the Texans head to Chicago to play the Bears on national television Sunday night.
Both teams are 7-1, and both teams only losses are to the Packers. It'll be a battle of two of the league's top defenses- and they know it.
"Obviously, we want to be known as the best defense in the NFL," said Watt. "The Bears are one of the best defenses in the NFL so it's an opportunity for us to go head to head on the stage."
"Obviously we won't be going head-to-head directly, but we will have the opportunity to show the world what we're about and we're excited about that opportunity," said Watt.
Kickoff between the Bears and the Texans is Sunday at 7:30 p.m.
